Approximately 85% of people have an episode of back pain in their life.So what causes it? That is not an easy question to answer as there are many structures in the spine and they change from level to level. The movement of each spinal level needs to be co-ordinated with the other levels. Problems occur if this co-ordination is altered for any reason. Pain is the signal there is a problem.
