I am very pleased to be a part of The Suncoast Health and Wellness Team. I am Irish and initially I trained as a Registered Nurse in the Adelaide Hospital in Dublin. I have worked for 17 years in public and private hospitals throughout Ireland and Australia. I was always very interested in the psychological care and needs of patients. So I underwent a career change and completed a 4 year honours degree in Applied Psychology in University College Cork. I emigrated to Australia in 2005 and worked as a rehabilitation provider. I case managed a portfolio of complex clients with both psychological and physical injuries in ACT and NSW. Later I completed a 2 year internship with The Australian College of Applied Psychology in Brisbane. During this time I also worked with the Australian Red Cross Blood Service.

Since registering as a Psychologist in 2008 I have worked within The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) providing therapeutic support to employees for a wide range of personal and work related issues. I have also worked in remote areas as an independent contractor in the mining industry. This involved providing psychological support to management and employees. I have also provided counselling support for numerous critical incidences in many different work organisations such as Government Industry and Private Enterprise. I became an Australian Citizen in 2010 as I absolutely love the weather and way of life in this country.

More recently I was employed by Queensland Health as the psychologist in Allied Health for case management of patients with chronic pain. Since then I have undertaken more study and competed a Master’s degree in Health Psychology. I am passionate about the health and welfare of people and in dealing with whatever worries or concerns that may arise. I have been described as a warm, non-judgmental compassionate psychologist. I am also keenly interested in clients’ personal development and am focused on positive therapeutic outcomes. I see both private clients and those in receipt of a Mental Health Care Plan from their G.P. I am happy to provide either face to face or telephone counselling. All issues, no matter how great or small can be discussed. Thank you for your interest.
